Kandiss Taylor warns corrupt officials at rally against ‘death by firing squad’.

Georgia Republican gubernatorial candidate Kandiss Taylor warned corrupt officials during a rally on Sunday in a speech that has now gone viral.

At a rally in Forsyth, Georgia, Taylor urged Georgians to pray for their sheriffs and pray for the corrupt to be replaced. She said it’s crucial that these officials act according to the will of the people — or face the consequences.

In the video that has since been watched a million times on TwitterTaylor suggested that corrupt officials convicted of treason could be sentenced to death by firing squad.

“We don’t do backroom deals with sheriffs, they are the highest constitutional office in their county and they will do the will of the people. I don’t mind handcuffing them either,” Taylor said.

“I’m serious, I’ve heard about sheriff corruption all over this state,” she continued. “We have some great sheriffs and praise the Lord for them, pray for them, even if you have a corrupt one, pray for them. Pray that if they are corrupt they will be replaced really quickly.”

“I don’t care, I don’t mind handcuffing a single person who is breaking the law and going against our government,” she said. “The constitution says if you commit treason, that’s death by firing squad. I didn’t write it, it’s in there, it’s serious. If you swear to God to uphold a document, you will do the will of the people, you will honor every single thing in this constitution, and you do that.”

The penalty for treason under US law is death (firing squad not specified) or imprisonment and a fine.

Another clip of Taylor went viral on Twitter last week, in which the political candidate said Native Americans made a “great sacrifice” so that Christians in the United States could “worship Jesus freely.” The video of her speech was picked up by the PatriotTakes Twitter account and has been more than viewed so far 630,000 times.

“The First Amendment right, which is our right to worship Jesus freely — that’s why we have a country. That’s why we have Georgia,” she said. “That’s why we had our Founding Fathers come here and destroy American Indian homes and their land. They took it. Look at what they went through, Native Americans for sacrifice so that we can have the freedom that we have today to have.”

Her comments drew strong backlash on social media, with some accusing her of being insensitive to the atrocities suffered by Native Americans when European colonizers arrived in America.
