Kathy Griffin targets Britney Spears after knife video: She’s ‘too free’

Late night TV is back in full swing. And the same was true for comedian Kathy Griffin when she appeared as a featured guest on the series Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday night.

Her appearance followed a new video she posted to her Instagram account in which Griffin promoted an upcoming stand-up date in Las Vegas by parodying the knife-wielding video that prompted police to do so Visit Britney Spears’ house for a security check.

After showing the video to Jimmy Kimmel’s viewers, Griffin said that while she was “afraid of the #FreeBritney people” — “They should do it,” Kimmel joked — “sometimes a person can be too free. “

“All I’m saying is: I love you gays, I love you #FreeBritney people, but you didn’t have a plan!” she joked.

In response to all the attention she received from her original video “Spears.” told her Instagram followers this week to “clarify things,” explaining that she was just “copying Shakira.”

Although Griffin risked upsetting the Britney stans, she was rightfully wary of upsetting the Swifties, warning Kansas City Chiefs fans not to blame Taylor Swift if Travis Kelce’s game falters during their apparent romance device.

“You athletes don’t stand a chance against the Swifties,” Griffin said. “No chance. If there is a threat to them or threats are perceived, they will trick your child’s teacher’s family, they will find out where you live, they will shoot to kill, don’t mess with them, me “I’m afraid of them because she’s my queen!”
