Katie had recorded a version of American R&B singer Jermaine Stewart’s song We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off in 1986.

The mother-of-five was joined by her sister Sophie on the Katie Price Show podcast and treated fans to her version of the hit.

She told listeners: “This will be the first time anyone has heard the full song and I’ll be releasing it in a few weeks.”

Katie then asked her nine-year-old daughter Bunny, who she shares with ex Kieran Hayler, if she was a fan of her mother’s music.

The teenager could be heard praising her mother and saying she listened to the song over and over again while dancing around her room.

Katie then played the track while belting out the high notes to a slowed down backing track.

Katie joked: “We don’t have to take our clothes off to have a good time, which is ironic because when I take my clothes off I have a good time.”

The song has been covered several times, most notably by Clea, Lil’ Chris and Ella Eyre.

Katie shared the exciting announcement on Instagram, but some fans were quick to mock the star’s singing skills.

One wrote: “She actually really thinks she can sing… she can’t.”

Another said: “Katie for convincing you you could sing because they need to be locked up. Listen dear, YOU CAN’T SING, you’re screaming but you’re not singing, you’re obviously hearing something different than everyone else… stop.” Stop stop.”

A third commented: “So hungry for attention it’s such a shame…”

But Katie’s fans were quick to defend her.

One wrote: “Wow..! These are really harsh comments. How about we just say nothing? We are ALL entitled to our opinions, but some are simply not necessary. She’s unlikely to stop singing just because some strangers on the internet tell her to.” She can’t sing.

Another wrote: “You could always sing, love your voice! Release more songs, love to you and your sister.”

Katie, who previously attempted to represent Britain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, has attempted to restart her pop career.

In 2010, she released a single titled “Free to Love Again” which reached number 60 on the charts.

And she tried again in 2017 with her single “I Got U,” but again had very little success.

She admitted she had little support for her musical dreams at the time – and even her manager didn’t want her to restart her pop career.

Her last effort was in 2020 with a track called Heartbroken.
