Keanu Reeves once listed his top movie recommendations

Keanu Reeves is a big movie star, but also a cinephile himself. In an interview with Esquire, Reeves revealed a long list of film recommendations. His matrix Co-star Carrie-Anne Moss said he shared the list with her towards the end of filming The Matrix Resurrections when she asked about movies to watch with her teenage kids.

“He’s training harder, working harder, caring more, asking more and more questions to understand what we’re doing,” Moss said. “And while he was doing all this for himself, he always had his eye on me. When I asked him about these movies, it seems like a small thing, but he’s so busy, he’s exhausted and he’s taken the time to write this very, very thoughtful list.

The neon demon

The bad batch is another Keanu Reeves film starring Ana Lily Amirpour as Arlen, a woman captured by a group of cannibals in a remote Texas wasteland. Arlen adapts to her new brutal environment and quickly learns that it’s hard to know who to trust.
dr Strangelove
Another Kubrick classic, dr Strangelove is a satirical comedy about nuclear fears during the Cold War. It’s about what happens when the wrong person presses the wrong button. The comedy stars Peter Sellers, George C. Scott, Slim Pickens and James Earl Jones.
Seven samurai
Directed by Akira Kurosawa Seven samurai is about a farmer who asks a samurai to protect his village from a group of bandits. The samurai finds six more who help fight for the village and teach the other villagers how to fight for themselves.
amadeus
amadeus is a fictional story by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Tom Hulce). The film portrays Mozart as a talented composer whose rival Antonio Salieri (F. Murray Abraham) is obsessed with bringing down Mozart.
Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are dead
Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are dead is a comedy revolving around two minor characters of William Shakespeare hamlet. Rosencrantz (Gary Oldman) and Guildenstern (Tim Roth) visit their friend Hamlet (Iain Glen), but then wander the castle unsuspectingly as the events of Hamlet revolve around them.

Comes from horror director Sam Raimi The bad death. The bad death revolves around a group of teenagers who come across a cabin in the woods. After finding a tape that summons demons, the group must survive an attack by evil demonic spirits.
Raise Arizona
Directed by the Coen brothers Raise Arizona Nicolas Cage plays a man who kidnaps a child to satisfy his wife’s desire to have children. Chaos ensues when the kid’s rich parent sends a bounty hunter after them.

Another film by the Coen brothers, The big Lebowski stars Jeff Bridges as The Dude. While The Dude usually spends his time bowling, he becomes involved in a kidnapping plot after being mistaken for the fake Lebowski.
La Femme Nikita
La Femme Nikita is a French film directed by Luc Besson. The film revolves around a convicted criminal who is trained to become an elite police assassin instead of going to prison. Things get complicated when she falls in love with someone who has no idea about her second life.
The professional
The professional is another Besson film starring Jean Reno, Gary Oldman and a young Natalie Portman. Reno plays a hitman who protects Portman’s character after her family is killed and plans to avenge her family’s killers.
The young Frankenstein
The young Frankenstein is a comedy classic directed by Mel Brooks. Gene Wilder plays Frankenstein’s grandson, who inherits his grandfather’s estate. Things get messy after he creates his own monster (Peter Boyle) and the monster gets rid of.
Flaming Saddles
Another comedy by Mel Brooks, Flaming Saddles, is a satire about a businessman (Harvey Korman) who wants to take over a town. To that end, he appoints a black man (Cleavon Little) as the new town sheriff, believing the town will reject him and run out of protection.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
From the comedy troupe Monty Python, Monty Python and the Holy Grail follows King Arthur on his quest for the Holy Grail. Full of hilarious moments and iconic quotes, Holy Grail is still a favorite of many nearly 50 years later.
