Kelly Clarkson’s Kids River and Remy join her on stage in Las Vegas

“My two kids are backstage preparing to come onstage with me in Vegas. Nothing will ever be as cool and amazing as these two little people who will always have all my heart,” Clarkson, 41, captioned photos of the couple via Instagram on Saturday 18 August.
The american idol alum who shares her children with her ex-husband Brandon BlackstockShe greeted her son first. “You picked which song?” Clarkson asked. Remy, who was wearing a Gucci t-shirt, responded enthusiastically, “A whole lot of woman.”
Remy danced while his mother sang, cheering him on between verses. “Get it, Remy!” she yelled over, according to fan videos Tick tock.
River, who wore a ruffled striped dress and red shoes, later sang “Heartbreak Song” with Clarkson, but the Texas native censored a lyric for her daughter. About 30 seconds into the track, she said to her daughter, “Don’t say hell,” before singing a weakened version of the song’s lyrics, “Where the heck did you come from?”

“[I] Don’t really listen to my things [my kids]”said Clarkson on a June episode of the Audacy Check-In podcast. “Even my other stuff, I think they were listening to my music with someone else because my daughter wanted her to hear ‘Whole Lotta Woman,’ and I was like, ‘How do you know that song?'”
She continued, “But she actually wanted to say ‘ass.’ She said, ‘May I sing ‘Ass’?’ And I was like, ‘Only me.’ I was like, ‘You can’t do that anywhere else.’”
Clarkson doesn’t mind changing lyrics to adapt to new situations. While cleaning up the lyrics for her children, she previously changed the lyrics to songs related to her ex-husband.
Blackstock, 43, and Clarkson split in 2020 after seven years of marriage. While the song “Piece by Piece” used to praise Blackstock, their 2023 changes have turned it into an anthem for self-empowerment.
While her chorus used to end with “Bit by bit he restored my faith / That a man could be kind and stay a father,” Clarkson is now her own faith healer. “Little by little I restored my faith / That a heart can still beat even if it breaks,” she sang at a show in Las Vegas earlier this month.

The exes finalized their divorce in March 2022, and Clarkson was required to pay Blackstock $45,601 a month in child support and $115,000 a month in spousal support through January 2024. She was also ordered to pay a one-time lump sum of $1.3 million in the settlement.
