You know the drill from here: grab your Yellowstone-loving bestie and your drink of choice, and let’s head inside.
Kelly Reilly on the best part about playing Beth Dutton
Kelly Reilly brings everyone’s favorite Dutton fire station, Beth, to life. Her characterization of Beth draws many viewers to the series and keeps them coming back.
Reilly told The Wrap that she was scared when she first got the role of Beth Dutton because she knew Beth was a very specific character. Taylor Sheridan wrote her with an idea in mind, and Reilly wanted to make sure she could appreciate the role and invest in all layers of Beth.
“I remember when I first got the part I was terrified right away because I didn’t really know how to do it. And Taylor was very specific about what he wanted and who she was and really owning that aspect of her, and first of all, it’s not necessarily likeable, it’s not an easy palate. She’s an anti-hero in a way that that ferocity and that terror and that beauty, that sharp, unpredictable, dangerous quality is something I really enjoyed and embraced. And yes, she’s complicated, and so there are times I’m really frustrated with her and there are times I’m very protective of her and just want people to understand her.
As we said before, Reilly protects Beth in a way that is unlike anyone else because she knows her better than anyone. She recognizes the weight of the choices Beth makes, the motivations that keep her from everyone around her – including the audience – and what drives her. Reilly’s dedication to her is what makes her a character we love so much, and while Beth isn’t for everyone, she’s okay with that. She’d rather be Rips Whiskey at the end of a long day anyway.
Fans still can’t get over Beth’s episode in Moment Three
Speaking of Beth Dutton, fans can’t get over her episode in Moment Three and this beer bottle fiasco. Okay, so “fiasco” is the wrong word; To be honest – she was a total badass. Even Jen Landon, who breathes life into Teeter, our favorite ranch hand, said the other girl was lucky all Beth had was a beer bottle.
You don’t approach someone’s husband, try to hit on them, and then tell them that on a good day you’ll “touch” their wife; she definitely Don’t do it when said husband is Rip Wheeler, Beth Dutton’s boyfriend.
Beth can handle a lot of smoke thrown in her way; she can literally handle fire and explosions; She will not tolerate another woman with her hands on her man. However, fans are wondering if this will mean major legal trouble for Beth and the Duttons.
The truth is the woman was wrong, but Beth was no angel in her reaction either. Of course, the predicament means that Jamie and Beth need to work together in some way, so this capacity could also involve storytelling.
Fans don’t forget that she still ended up KOing a girl in front of the police and the new chief needs to make sure he leads by example.
Some fans think this is an opportunity for Market Equities to engage with the woman who greeted Beth with the beer bottle if they aren’t already. With Sarah Atwood in the picture, all bets are off and there’s no way to see what she’ll bring to the table just yet.
We’ll have to see how this all plays out as Season 5 progresses, and we’re sure it will be both interesting and exciting.
The Case of the Missing Brand
Everyone watching yellowstone knows the meaning of the brand and it is the greatest honor to wear it. While the experience of earning the mark is painful, it’s something that solidifies ranch hands to Yellowstone Dutton Ranch and vice versa. When Walker got out of the shower in episode three, fans realized his brand was missing.
Tweets and Instagram posts went wild with an image that appeared to see Walker losing his brand entirely. It would be impossible for the brand to come and go, so fans wondered if it was a mistake that went unnoticed through editing. Eagle-eyed fans soon noticed that the brand was still there, but it was very weak in that scene.
A Reddit thread shows a much clearer picture of Walker’s brand, and it’s a nod to the idea that Sheridan knows what he’s doing when filming yellowstone. Walker initially did not want to wear the mark, and his lack of complete dedication to everything the ranch participates in was a point of contention between Walker and Rip; So if he suddenly lost the mark, it would take a lot away from the series.
Also, we know what happened the last time John Dutton wanted his badge back, and it wasn’t pretty. We’re glad he still wears the branding, even if he’s not a fan-favorite character: it’s better than knowing he suffered from having it removed, even if viewers sometimes take him to the station in person want. Sheridan writes characters that you love, that you hate, and that audiences have a love-hate relationship with. To Walker, who definitely falls into the latter category.
