King Charles poses for new portrait with Prince George

King Charles III celebrates his newly crowned self – and his loyal family.

The British royal family posted a new photo of the monarch on Instagram on Friday, taken on the day of the coronation, showing his son Prince William and grandson Prince George. In the picture, Karl is dressed in royal robes, seated – and crowned.

“The King with the Prince of Wales and Prince George of Wales in the Throne Room of Buckingham Palace on Coronation Day” the royal family tweeted on Friday.

The souvenir picture was taken by Photographer of the royal family Hugo Burnand and saw Charles wearing the estate robe and imperial state crown, according to ET. The ruler’s orb and ruler’s scepter with cross were in his hands.

The British monarch sat on a 1902 throne chair made for King George V and Queen Mary the coronation of King Edward VII that year. Meanwhile, William and George can be seen on either side of the king.

However, some were not enthusiastic about the picture, with countless Twitter users questions about Prince Harry’s absence. Prince William’s younger brother famously left the royal family after his wife’s alleged racist treatment prompted her to leave the royal family.

William notably recited the tribute of royal blood at the coronation – pledging his loyalty to the king as a “liege man life and limb” – while 9-year-old George took a key role in the ceremony, serving as one of royal sides.

“I, William, Prince of Wales, pledge my allegiance to you.” said William at the coronation“And I will bring faith and truth to you as your liege man in body and life.” May God help me.”

The Royal family posted another photo on Friday This included all eight of the king’s “pages of honor and ladies present” which included Queen Camilla – who wore the crown and estate robe of Queen Mary.

“Princess Diana would be so proud if her first grandson were surrounded by so much love” one person tweeted in response to the picture. “Prince William and Kate are such wonderful parents.”

According to Variety, The coronation attracted more than 14 million viewers on BBC and more than 8 million viewers on Sky News.
