Knock at the Cabin Trailer: M. Night Shyamalan Directed by Dave Bautista

The thriller, starring Jonathan Groff and Rupert Grint, hits theaters on February 3.

M. Night Shymalan brings another rollercoaster ride to theaters. The director, who just wrapped up a sizzling streak of mid-budget thrillers like ‘Old’ and ‘Split,’ will release another this February, ‘Knock at the Cabin,’ and a second trailer showing the twisted plot of the Films shows has been released.

Based on the 2018 novel The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul G. Tremblay, the film focuses on a gay couple (played by Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge) who raise their daughter Wen (Kristen Cui) in a remote village Place to take on vacation Cottage in the middle of the forest. There, Wen meets a group of strangers, led by the mysterious Leonard (Dave Bautista), who eventually break into the cabin, taking the family hostage and bringing them a terrifying message: the world is about to end and the only way to save them to save it’s up to the three of them to choose the “ultimate sacrifice”. Initially, the family doesn’t believe the group and tries to escape, but as the hostage situation continues, they are at odds over what to do and whether they should sacrifice their own happiness for the good of the world.

Knock at the Cabin also stars Rupert Grint (who stars in Shymalan’s Apple TV+ series Servant), Nikki Amuka-Bird and Abby Quinn as Leonard’s three followers. Shymalan wrote the film with Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman and produced with Marc Bienstock and Ashwin Rajan. Jarin Blaschke, the Oscar nominee known for his work on Robert Egger’s films The Lighthouse, The Witch and The Northman, is serving as cinematographer on the film.

The winter of 2023 will be a busy time for Shymalan. Alongside Knock at the Cabin, the director’s TV thriller Servant will air its fourth and final season on January 13 on Apple TV+. This series is an unhinged tale of a couple mourning the loss of their baby and getting wrapped up in the schemes of a villainous cult, stars Grint, Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell and Nell Tiger Free.
