La Brea Mystery Solved: How did Eve get the shearling coat back from mine?

Prepare to sleep peacefully this weekend because TVLine has cracked that La Brea secret that has caused many a restless night.

If you are Not Familiar with my unabashed chronicle of the cozy shearling coat that Eve Harris (played by Natalie Zea) wears fairly quickly in Season 1 after landing in 10,000 BC.

In the fifth episode of season 2, Eve, Gavin, Izzy and Sam KO’d some exile guards in the mine and then donned the thugs’ medieval hooded uniforms – seemingly leave their go-to outerwear behind.

La Brea Summary 2x06And yet, in the following episode, as Eve, Izzy, and Sam watched as an unconscious Gavin was dragged into the Shining Tower by Lazarus guards, Eve casually reached down to grab her signature shearling coat and put it back on.

And yet nobody – repeat, nobody – had a chance to return to the mines and collect everyone’s discarded clothing.

but La Brea TVLine showrunner David Appelbaum confirms it’s because… nobody had to!

“We talked about that a lot — how do we get her clothes back?” after Eve & Co. donned the guards’ uniforms, Appelbaum said.

The answer: Just bring it with you.

“You may have noticed that they carry a bag with them when they leave the exile camp. All her clothes were there,” Appelbaum explained. (See screenshot above.) Then when they drove to Lazarus in a cart full of black stones, “it was in the back of the cart. And in Episode 6, when Levi and Scott watched the attack on the building, in our minds they had the bag with them at the time so they could get the clothes later.”

The next mystery to be solved: why Eve wore the warm shearling skirt when she visited Los Angeles circa 1988.
