LA couple offer reward for safely returning stolen $8,000 French bulldog: ‘Please bring my son back!’

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Julio Escobar and Kamila Agudelo were walking their beloved French bulldog Rajah on Wednesday night when he was grabbed by two men and stolen.

Rajah has been part of her family for less than a year.

“For us, it’s not a dog. It’s my son,” said an emotional Escobar. “Please bring my son back!”

“One pushed me, the other grabbed the dog. They ran. I ran after them. Then a car was involved. A third person was driving what appeared to be a minivan,” Agudelo told Eyewitness News. “They watched us while we were talking.”

The couple, who live in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood, have filed a police report with the Los Angeles Police Department, but due to the fact that French bulldogs are frequently stolen due to their price tags — Rajah costs $8,000 — they are concerned they might see Rajah never again.

“The problem is the people who buy these dogs. If the dog is undocumented, don’t buy it and that will end that,” Escobar said.

“It was really traumatic. I gave away my other dog because I don’t feel safe anymore,” Agudelo said. “It’s awful – just walking around. Looking at every single car that drives past you.”

This was supposed to be a week of celebration for the couple, who were married at a local courthouse on Friday morning. They had planned for Rajah to serve as best man. The pair are offering their own reward for Rajah’s safe return.

“Every single place in my house is filled with memories. Everything,” said Agudelo. “Just go to the toilet and he will follow me.”

If you have any knowledge of Rajah’s whereabouts, you can contact the LAPD’s West LA Division at 310-444-0701.
