LA Mayor-elect Bass is inviting Garcetti employees to stay through April, the report said

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Karen Bass has invited all staff at Mayor Garcetti’s office to stay until April, according to a media report released on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles Times reported that the invitation was extended in a letter received by the newspaper.
Typically, new mayors retain some staff from the previous administration—but extending the offer to all staff is unusual.
A spokeswoman for the mayor-elect says she plans to appoint her chief of staff immediately.
Bass — a Democrat who was on President-elect Joe Biden’s shortlist for vice president — overcame more than $100 million in spending from billionaire Rick Caruso’s campaign, arguing that she would be a coalition builder in a troubled city with could heal almost 4 million people.
The election tested whether voters in the heavily democratic city were willing to turn away from their liberal tendencies and embrace an approach that would place a strong emphasis on public safety.
Bass is sworn in December 12th.
