‘Last Chance U: Basketball’ Season 2 Trailer: ELAC gets another chance

The East LA College Huskies pick up right where COVID left them off in the Netflix Season 2 trailer Last Chance U: Basketball.
East Los Angeles College was a team of destinies in 2020 — and then COVID changed our destinies all.
Well, the ELAC Huskies and Head Hoops trainer John Mosley are back — as are Greg Whiteley’s cameras for Season 2 of the Netflix sports documentary series Last Chance U: Basketball. The second season of the spin-off of Whiteley’s JUCO football documentaries, Last Chance U, will premiere on the streaming service on December 13. Netflix released a trailer on Tuesday; check it out below
Aside from Mosley, you won’t see many familiar faces in the sneak preview. That’s the nature of prestige junior college sport — or at least it is when things go according to plan. But before big transfer dreams can come true, the talented players, many of whom have lost Division I scholarships due to behavioral and/or academic reasons, will be looking to make enough money to win a championship. Unless a global pandemic intervenes.
We won’t spoil the 2021-22 ELAC men’s basketball season (and with it, Season 2 of Last Chance U: Basketball), but it was another successful season for the Huskies; successful in that they both played and well played. The 2020-21 season was canceled entirely due to Covid, and 2019-20 was abandoned just before the state tournament. Viewers of Last Chance U: Basketball Season 1 saw the heartbreak unfold in real-time (delayed for production) in March 2020 when that television season released in March 2021.
Last Chance U: Basketball season two will consist of eight one-hour episodes, Netflix announced on Tuesday. Whiteley, Adam Leibowitz and Daniel George McDonald share directing duties. Joe LaBracio, Lucas Smith and James D. Stern are executive producing Season 2 of Basketball, alongside franchise creator Whiteley, who also joined Cheer from OG Last Chance U. Co-executive producers are Andrew Fried, Dane Lillegard and Leibowitz.
Last Chance U: Basketball is a Netflix production in association with GQ Studios, Endgame Entertainment, One Potato Productions and Boardwalk Pictures.
Last Chance U: Basketball season 2 arrives on Netflix on December 13th. Check out the trailer below.
