Lennie James Says Morgan’s Story Will End With Fear The Walking Dead

After lennie james has helped make Morgan Jones one of the most popular characters in the world Walking Dead Universe, it’s time to say goodbye. Back to the very first episode of the Walking DeadMorgan played a pivotal role in the story as he and his son were the first survivors Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) encountered when he woke up in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. James later returned as Morgan in later seasons before joining the spin-off series Fear the walking deathwhere he is still one of the main players.
Time will tell if Morgan makes it to the end Fear the walking death alive, but in any case, fans shouldn’t expect to see the character again once the show’s eighth and final season wraps up. Given how different Walking Dead With the characters having upcoming spin-offs, the door seems open for James to continue as Morgan, whether through a show of his own or an appearance on one of the others. But James himself rules that out, as he says he’s done with Morgan after graduation Fear the walking death. As the actor says CBR in a new interview:
“It is for me. He’s been at it long enough. For me to pick up the stick again, it would have to be an amazing act. It would have to be a situation where I couldn’t look back at all the episodes that happened.” I’ve done it so far and I’m like, “No, I did that in episode so and so, season so and so .” I have no interest in repeating myself on Morgan right now. I think that would tarnish his legacy a bit.”
Morgan’s story won’t end without the character going back to her roots the Walking Dead. The trailer for the 8th season of Fear the walking death revealed that Morgan is returning to King County, Georgia, where he had met Rick at the beginning of the apocalypse. James teases that there’s a good reason Morgan is returning to the place where he lost his son so many years ago.
“There is a reason for us to be there. It’s not as easy as people might think. It’s fundamental to who Morgan is, who he wants to be, and who he wants to be in this particular moment. I’m looking forward to it.” Fans who know the importance of the place. I’m glad you’re watching these episodes.”
The Walking Dead spin-offs will keep the franchise alive
In the meantime, the franchise will continue with several spin-offs in the works. A limited series is currently being filmed that will reunite Rick Grimes and Michonne (Danai Gurira) and bring these characters’ stories to some conclusion. In another series, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) is sent to France to face all-new foes without his old friends by his side. Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) will also appear separately headlining their own Manhattan-based spin-off. The Walking Dead: Dead City.
