“Lies Of P” sequel confirmed, DLC teased with two new images

Lies of P was released in September to critical and fan acclaim – we gave it one of our highest ratings of the year and you can read why here Game Informer’s Reads of P review. Following a September patch that included various changes to make the Soulslike action RPG easier, game director Jiwon Choi has released a director’s letter to confirm plans for a sequel to Lies of P, DLC for the game with two to announce new images and more.

Sequel to Lies Of P confirmed

Choi began the video thanking players for helping the game sell a million copies in less than two months after release. He then slyly drops a line confirming that the Pinocchio-inspired “Soulslike” is getting a sequel.

“Our top priority is developing the DLC and working on the sequel,” Choi says in the director’s letter. “The development team puts considerable effort into brainstorming and exploring various aspects of the projects.”

That’s all Choi tells us about the sequel, but it’s nice to hear the team is working on one, and if you beat Lies of P and saw the post-credits scene, you can probably guess where it leads. That is, unless that’s planned for DLC…

Lies of P DLC teased

Speaking of DLC, Choi also shared two new images from Lies of P’s in-development DLC. The first image appears to be some kind of laboratory, perhaps a place where people in Krat experimented on humans to create the monsters seen in the second half of Lies of P. The second picture is completely different and shows Pinocchio on a ship on the water. It’s very reminiscent of pirates and some hints in the image suggest that this DLC may take us to Neverland to help (or fight against) Captain Hook, Peter Pan and others. But that’s pure speculation; See for yourself below and let us know what you think!

“Even after launch, our commitment to providing players with a compelling and memorable story remains unwavering,” said Choi. “To achieve this, we are fully committed to developing the DLC. [I] I love watching players speculate and discuss various aspects while waiting for the DLC. Every time we come across remarkably imaginative and creative hypotheses. My heart is pounding and I feel warmth. The anticipation is truly exhilarating.”
