Lord of the Rings Online will end macOS support on August 25th

Mac users have been able to play for a number of years Lord of the rings online in pre-Catalina versions of macOS (albeit with limited support from Standing Stone Games), but on Thursday, August 25th, support for macOS will be dropped entirely as developers “formally reject” the macOS client.

There will be no official support after that date LOTRO on Mac; Players can still access the game and even download the Mac client, but actually launching the game requires a dual-boot solution from Windows. Official customer support for the Mac client will also end after August 25th.

LOTRO now joins the long list of MMORPGs that are no longer supported for MacOS, but for those gamers who are still looking for great games of our genre on a native Mac computer, we have compiled a list of 13 such titles. Unfortunately, LOTRO won’t be one of them in August.
