‘M3GAN 2.0’ is already on the way, with a set release date

The first box office hit of the year M3GAN has seen excellent reviews and is already confirmed that a sequel is on the way.

Akela Cooper and James Wan’s latest collaboration is another foray into horror comedy, with a surprise hit, particularly for the January releases. Blumhouse and Wan’s Atomic Monster production companies are already working on the tentatively titled sequel M3GAN 2.0.

Cooper is already back at work on the script, while star Alison Williams is set to transition into a producer role after leading the first film. Likewise, child star Violet McGraw will return after a strong performance in the first film. A release date has even been set, so write to January 17, 2025 to find out more M3GAN Insanity.

The killer doll movie trope seemed played out beforehand M3GAN, but the vision for this film as a dark, comedic satire on corporations has shot it up a notch. Director Gerard Johnstone said the film required reshoots to meet a PG-13 rating, but these hardly affected quality. He is expected to return for 2.0

Add to the film’s quality its excellent marketing campaign, which perfectly matched the fine lines of campiness and chic, it’s perhaps no surprise that it grossed as much as it did. To date, M3GAN has grossed over $100 million, proving yet again how proper marketing and no franchise baggage can contribute to the success of a horror film.

Critics and audience response have been similarly strong, with the film currently ranking 95 percent for the former and 79 percent for the latter on Rotten Tomatoes.

M3GAN 2.0 will be released in 2025, with distributor Universal behind the film again.
