Machine Gun Kelly’s directorial debut earns an embarrassing 7 nominations from the Razzies

The nominees for the 43rd Golden Raspberry Awards have been announced, once again waging a lone crusader against the entertainment industry’s prime goal of ego-stroking.

disease will have his first deserved time in the spotlight with five nominations, the Dead-on-Arrival Pinocchio (Disney’s, not Guillermo del Toro’s) made it even better at six, and Andrew Dominik’s infamously sloppy Marilyn Monroe biopic Blond has taken the crown with eight nods. It’s second place with seven nominations good sorrowa stoner comedy that could be crucial in proving that Colson Baker (aka Machine Gun Kelly) should stick to rapping.

In the film, protagonist London Clash, played by Baker, stumbles over his own two feet while trying to decide whether to win back his girlfriend Apple or pursue a life-changing lead in a blockbuster Batman Movie. With an approval rating of zero percent on Rotten Tomatoes, albeit with just seven reviews, this is a stoner comedy that will have no place in anyone’s mind after the ceremony.

good sorrow is nominated for Worst Picture, Worst Actor for Baker, Worst Movie Couple for Baker and co-writer and director Derek Smith (aka Mod Sun), Worst Director for Baker and Smith, Worst Screenplay for Baker and Smith, and two nominations for Worst Supporting Actor for Smith (who portrays London’s friend Dylan in the film) and Pete Davidson (who portrays the character Berry as the star cameo).

It’s definitely not the outcome you’d expect from your directorial debut, especially when you’re starting out in a genre as low as stoner comedy. But on the bright side, it’s highly unlikely he can make it any worse. So if Baker is serious about making a good film, this could be the first humbling stepping stone to such a goal.
