“Maggie” canceled on Hulu – no season 2

Maybe maggie‘s titular psychic already saw the news coming: Hulu canceled the romantic comedy after just one seasonconfirmed TVLine.
While streamers are notoriously reluctant to disclose viewership/”ratings,” that’s been worth nothing in the weeks since maggie‘s debut on July 6, it didn’t once crack the top 10 in Nielsen’s weekly US ranking of streaming originals (while Hulu’s Only murders in the building is always present).
The series – which was originally produced for ABC before moving to the streamer – starred Rebecca Rittenhouse (The Mindy Project) as the aforementioned Maggie, who is dating cute history teacher Ben (The baker and the beautyby David Del Rio). There’s just one catch: Maggie also had a vision of him marrying his longtime girlfriend Jessie (The Carrie Diaries“Chloe Bridges).
The cast also included Nichole Sakura (Supermarket) as Maggie’s best friend Louise; Ray Ford (Don’t trust the B—- in apartment 23) as Maggie’s psychic angel; Angelique Cabral (life in pieces) and Leonardo Nam (western world) as Ben’s sister Amy and brother-in-law Dave; and Kerry Kenney (Reno 911!, Superstore) and Chris Elliot (Schott’s Creek) as Maggie’s oddball parents who own the duplex she (and Ben and Jessie) live in.
Our sister site diversity was the first to report the cancellation. TVLine’s Streaming Renewal Scorecard has been updated with the news. Hit the comments with your reactions!
