“Magnum PI” adds Michael Rady for Season 5 on NBC

MagnumPI added a new (but familiar!) face as it moves into its new home on NBC.

TVLine has exclusively learned that Michael Rady (Chicago Med, Timeless) will return in Season 5 of the island drama as Detective Childs from the Honolulu PD.

In addition to Timeless and its run as Chicago Med‘s dr Matt Cooper, Rady’s TV credits are also included Swingtown, Greek, Melrose Place (The CW Edition), The mentalist, Emily Owens. MD, Jane the Virgin, Unreal and many Hallmark Channel movies.

To MagnumPI was summarily canceled by CBS, NBC rushed to the rescue last July and ordered 20 episodes to be split over two seasons (the show’s fifth). and sixth) – and with the option of more, with success.

For many loyal viewers, of course, it means: “But if will magnums Return?!”

Season 5 didn’t start filming until mid-September, and NBC’s fall planning is pretty much set/underway. So MagnumPI Realistically, the next case won’t be cracked until mid-season, in January, at the earliest.

magnumsThe last CBS run averaged 7.3 million viewers and a demo rating of 0.7 (including Live+7 playback), which was just a tad shy of Season 3’s results (7.5 million/0, 8th). Of the 14 dramas CBS aired last season, it ranked 9th on both scales. NBC’s 7.3 million viewership, on the other hand, would have been enough fifth among all last season’s drama behind #OneChicago and La Brea but preferably all law & orders and others.
