Man arrested after his wife was shot dead, police say she asked him to do so

A 69-year-old man in Roy, Utah, has been accused of shooting and killing his wife, but he claims she told him to do it, according to reports.
Dave Meyer has been charged on suspicion of murdering his wife on January 21. According to a Fox 13 report, police also concluded that his wife had been killed earlier in the week after she discovered her body at their home.
Police initially dispatched to the home said Meyer may have killed his wife, according to the report. He was arrested without incident on Saturday and taken into custody.

A search of the house found the body of Meyer’s wife, whose name has not yet been released by the authorities.
Speaking to police, Meyer said his wife had been in pain for over a decade following a car accident. He said he saw her suffer from severe back pain and nerve damage for many years.
He also said that, according to court documents, “due to the amount of paint she was in, she had been asking him to kill her for some time.”
