Man who bumped into biker club member in bar was brutally attacked

A man is recovering after being injured and injured in an alleged attack by members of a motorcycle club.

Police said the incident happened Saturday at a bar in Carleton, Michigan, south of Detroit, and involved “several men assaulting a victim.” The victim is from Carleton.

The Carleton Police Department shared information from witnesses news week that diners at The Wolf’s Den saw the reported unnamed victim, 35, exit the bar through the front door. On the way out, the victim allegedly accidentally bumped into another customer.

The customer who was hit was a biker wearing the colors of the Iron Coffins Motorcycle Club. Founded in 1966 in Toledo, Ohio, the club has at least 14 chapters throughout Michigan — including in Monroe and southwest Detroit.

Witnesses said that after colliding with one of the Iron Coffins members, the victim reportedly decided to exit the wolf’s den through a side door to avoid a confrontation with members of the motorcycle club. That’s when several members reportedly “came after” the victim.

A photo released by police of members of the Iron Coffins group shows six members at the bar.

“The victim was able to fend off the first assailant and attempted to fend off the second assailant as several other club members approached,” police said.

The attack on the victim, who police said had previously suffered from seizures, resulted in a head wound that required 28 staples.

When asked if the incident took place inside or outside the bar, or if there was surveillance footage of the alleged altercation, police declined to comment, saying the incident was part of an active investigation.

A Facebook post published Monday by the Carleton Police Department said all those allegedly involved in the attack had been identified. Police did not say how they were identified.

Click On Detroit reported that authorities want to question her before involving prosecutors in a case review.

Police also said that according to a report by FOX 2 Detroit, there were no officers at their station when the attack occurred because all of their officers were on patrol.

“The gentleman who has the stitches is a really nice boy,” bar owner Mike Wolf told FOX 2. “He doesn’t cause any problems; he’s a good boy and we don’t really know what happened.”

A bar patron who reportedly witnessed the incident called it “an isolated incident” that happens “in every bar anywhere in this country”.
