Marjorie Taylor Greene’s plans to “protect our nation’s children” extend only to promoting anti-LGBTQ+ laws, not gun control laws

In case anyone doubts it Marjorie Taylor Greene Actually having genuine concerns for America’s children, they were crushed the moment the Georgia Congresswoman didn’t hesitate to use the Covenant School Shooting to demand more guns. In the days that followed, she was understandably distracted with important tasks, like loudly protesting Trump’s impeachment and attempting to bully Stormy Daniels. And now that she’s finally got some free time, she’s moved on to promoting her favorite issue, her Protect Children’s Innocence Act bill.

The law in question, if passed, would ban gender-affirming care for all patients under the age of 18, making it impossible to provide the legal, social, and medical measures a person needs to conveniently transition to their preferred gender. This law will in no way protect America’s children, but for Greene — who wasted no second in claiming that the Covenant School shooting happened because the shooter was transgender — it remains an absolute necessity.

To protect our nation’s children from gender-based lies and permanent damage to their bodies, we must pass my Child Innocence Protection Act.

While she doesn’t realize (or avoid) what she’s doing wrong in her crusade to “protect” children, those in the comments didn’t stop to take a breather to point out the hypocrisy.

Why not pass a law where children can survive long enough to make their own decisions as adults instead of being gunned down for learning their multiplication table?

Here’s an idea. Stop getting in the way of parents, medical experts, children and psychiatrists and start governing instead. If you want to protect children, do something about the gun violence epidemic in this country and do something about mental health. Your hate and bigotry…

Protect Children’s Innocence Act isn’t the only anti-LGBTQ+ project Greene supports. Aside from regularly spreading bigoted thoughts on the subject, the politician has made it a point to back any attempt to pass anti-LGBTQ+ legislation with the Parents Bill of Rights, which aims to create a very hostile one Creating Environments for LGBTQ+ Youngsters in Schools is the latest troubled bill receiving her very eager vote and it will come as no surprise when her forthcoming appearance is on the cards 60 minutes – already boycotted by George Takei – eventually becomes an advertising platform for their controversial rhetoric.
