Martin Henderson was happy that season 4 ended right where it did

Virgin River He’s no stranger to cliffhangers. However, season 4 ended on an absolute bombshell. Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) rush to help Jack’s pregnant ex-girlfriend, Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley), who is in the midst of an emotional breakdown over her new husband’s possible infidelity.
Jack and Mel were stunned when Charmaine revealed the twins she is carrying are not actually Jack’s. Henderson has now said he’s glad Season 4 ended right there, before Jack’s reaction was revealed.

Jack was originally intended to be the father of Charmaine’s twins in Virgin River
After their breakup, Jack was stunned to learn Charmaine was pregnant. Charmaine was still reeling from their breakup, while the former Marine was hoping to start a romance with Mel. Although things were rocky between Charmaine and Jack, the pair had a decent flow in Season 4 Virgin River Writers Event originally wanted to clarify that Jack was the twins’ father.
However, Breckenridge and several other actors weren’t too keen on the idea. “I also thought, ‘I think Charmaine did [Jack’s] Kids are absolutely bananas too,'” the actor told Glamour. “I got my wishes at the end of the season because that wasn’t really planned for a minute. I think they planned to have her go the other way. I was like, ‘You’re all crazy!’”
Now that Charmaine has revealed that Jack is not the father of her twins, the consequences will be dire.
Martin Henderson was glad that Virgin River season 4 ended where it did
Virgin River Fans make life difficult for Charmaine, and while she certainly didn’t make it easy for Jack and Mel, some of her agony was justified. However, when she revealed that she had lied to Jack about the twins’ paternity, all the goodwill she had collected crumbled.
In fact, Henderson said he was glad Season 4 ended at this point, with Charmaine revealing her secret about the twins.
“I was just really glad the scene ended right there and you didn’t actually hear Jack’s response because it would have just been ‘beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep,'” he told Pay or Wait. “You couldn’t have emanated anything that came out of that man’s mouth at that point.”
With Season 5 expected to pick up right where Season 4 left off, we’ll likely get some of those reactions in the future.
The fight between Jack and Charmaine will be intense
As Jack has worked to be patient with Charmaine, especially after the antics she pulled with her husband Todd (Patrick Sabongui), we think the arguments between them will be serious. Obviously, Charmaine needs to remain as calm as possible, but we doubt Jack will hold back his emotions.
“I mean, you could tell by the end of season four, Charmaine was very upset and very remorseful,” Breckenridge explained to Glamour. “I’m pretty sure Jack’s pretty pissed. So we’ll see where that leaves the three this year. I think he’s going to have a really hard time forgiving her, rightly so.”
When will we find out Virgin River Season 5 starts in 2023.
