Massage parlor employee shoots robbery suspect in Riverside

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) — An investigation is underway after a massage parlor employee shot and critically injured a robbery suspect in Riverside.

According to the Riverside Police Department, the incident occurred at E-Joy Foot And Body Massage just before 10 p.m. Wednesday. According to officials, the employee opened fire after two men attempted to rob the restaurant.

They both fled the scene, but the injured suspect ended up at a nearby Northgate Market and was then taken to hospital. The other suspect managed to escape.

The store was closed at the time. No employees were injured and nothing was stolen.

Police said the employee’s gun was properly registered and that the district attorney would investigate the shooting.
