‘Mayans MC’ Sets Final Season 5 Release Date On FX

It’s almost time for the last ride of the Mayans.

Mayans MC will return for its fifth and final season Wednesday May 24th at 10/9c, FX announced Thursday. The season consists of 10 episodes and begins with a two-episode premiere.

FX also released a teaser trailer for the latest installments, which you can see above.

The Sons of Anarchy The spinoff was originally renewed for Season 5 last July, not long after Season 4 ended. Season 5 was later confirmed Mayans‘ most recently at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in January.

“The Mayans have fought for respect, territory and power over four intense seasons that have set the stage for an explosive fifth season that will test their survival under EZ’s newly claimed leadership,” said Nick Grad, President of the Original programming by FX Entertainment a previous statement. “[Co-creator] Elgin James and the creative team, the brilliant cast, crew and our partners at 20th Television have kept fans coming back for more, and we’re ready to take that ride with them for another season.”

While MayansIn the Season 4 finale (read the full synopsis), EZ invoked a years-old club rule that allowed him to overthrow incumbent Santo Padre President Marcus Alvarez. In a particularly startling twist, EZ then proclaimed himself the new president of the charter (with Bishop as his veep) and confirmed his intention to develop a business relationship with drug king Soledad; Little does EZ know, however, that an anonymous arsonist burned down the warehouse that housed Soledad’s substantial stash of heroin.
