Netflix Virgin River is one of the most immersive shows on streaming services. The series follows the romance between Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson). Since Mel moved to the small town from Los Angeles, the couple has experienced many ups and downs. After all, Mel was grieving the loss of her husband and Jack was in a relationship when they first met.
Now that their romance is solid, Mel and Jack are in a good place. And it looks like they will continue to be so in Season 5.

Virgin River season 5 will be ‘heavy’ and ‘intense’
There has been a great tremor Virgin River. Sue Tenney, who developed the series and served as showrunner for the first four seasons, has moved on to various projects. Now, Greek Creator Patrick Sean Smith has taken her place.
Although the series will have the same formatting and bones as always, something will be slightly different this season. “I think this season has started well and we’re getting into some episodes that are pretty intense,” Breckenridge told New Beauty. “They’re really intense and I think they’re some of the best episodes we’ve ever done. I think there’s a high sense of drama this season that will bring people to the edge of their seats. At least I hope so. I look forward to addressing that.”
But despite all the drama, Mel and Jack will be closer than ever.

After a breakup, paternity drama, and the exposure of Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley), Mel and Jack have been through a lot. However, according to Henderson, the couple will be closer than ever.
“From what I understand, you’re also going to see Mel and Jack getting very close this season,” he told Express. “Some of the things they’re going to go through will really strengthen their bond. A lot of season four was stuff that turned her off, like Jack’s drinking. I don’t think there were any real doubts about the relationship, but there were definitely some issues and bumps that made their union kind of rocky. Hopefully this big proposal put an end to that.”
However, Henderson hints that there will still be some bumps.
Jack’s ex-wife is likely to appear in Season 5 of Virgin River
With Mel’s pregnancy and her bond with Jack, we’re glad the couple will be in a good place as it’s likely Jack’s past will come back to haunt him. As fans of Virgin River know that the former Marine was married to a woman named Mandy in the past.
Now there were indications that Mandy will appear in season 5. “There are still a lot of great Easter eggs and breadcrumbs left, and we thoughtfully clocked them all,” Smith told Glamour. “I would say watch season five and see if Mandy shows up.”
