Michael Strahan receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC)– Michael Strahan has taken another step with the inaugural star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the sports entertainment category.

He’s an NFL Hall of Famer, a game show host, a Peabody Award-winning journalist, and now — he’s got his own star.

“It’s surreal,” Strahan said. “Who thinks that would happen to you in your life when you grow up? Especially if you’re in the sports world and you’re next on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

His legacy is rooted in football and has evolved to show he is a giant in more ways than one. Shortly after winning the 2007 Super Bowl and having appeared in seven Pro Bowls, Strahan became a prominent voice in sports media.

He found a voice in other areas as well, hosting ABC’s Good Morning America, writing a book, launching a brand and even going into space!

“I thought I’d have to go into space to be with the stars, but I don’t think so,” he said. “Could have saved me a trip.”

His secret? stay true to yourself

“Different personalities of mine, but all really authentic, and I think that’s helped me really build a career and helped me enjoy life and what I do,” Strahan said.

He learns who he can be with the help of the people who push and guide him when he can’t see certain things for himself.

“I have a lot of people and all from different aspects and different parts of my life, but they all have the same common theme and that’s just being a good person, like wanting to make things better for everyone around them,” he said.

These people came to support Strahan’s big day in Hollywood and number 92 and his new number as 2,744. honoring a star on the Walk of Fame.
