Michelle explained that she contracted the bacteria from “extremely dirty water” and poor conditions in the jungle.

The singer shared the gloomy photo and wrote: “TRIGGER WARNING ‼️

“It’s called ‘swamp eye’

“A year ago, after returning from the jungle with a parasite in extremely dirty water from SAS Who Cares Wins, I decided to come face to face with myself.

“They lived there and found their new home for over three months. They couldn’t see properly. To this day, my vision in my right eye is still slightly blurry.”

“I remember going straight into Dancing on Ice training with a band-aid on – almost all the way to the live shows.”

“Tune in to SAS Channel 4 tonight at 9pm to see if it was all worth it.”

Michelle’s fans were stunned by the bloody snap and took to social media to praise the star for her bravery.

One wrote: “Oh Michelle. I can’t wait to watch tonight! I know you’ll be on stage when it starts, but I’m sure you’ll see it at home or even tomorrow! So proud of you! We’ve done it every time.”

Another wrote: “Oh my god this is so scary. Wow, you are so brave. SAS and Dancing on Ice are two of the most dangerous shows. Well done.”

A third commented: “My goodness you poor thing! There are so many lasting injuries to this show, but it’s great to watch.”

Michelle appears alongside MP Matt Hancock, Towie star James “Arg” Argent and The Wanted singer Siva Kaneswaran, among others.

Ahead of the show’s airing, a source told The Sun: “Michelle is ready and raring to go and is now out filming with her co-stars.”

“She has been through so much in her personal life due to her battle with alcoholism, but she wants to prove to herself how far she has come.”

Last May, Michelle revealed in an interview that she was days away from death after drinking and taking cocaine for three years.

She added: “This is a really good time for me to show people how far I’ve come in my journey and where I am right now.”
