Midland experiences a 5.3 magnitude earthquake

MIDLAND, Texas — Portions of west Texas experienced a magnitude 5.3 earthquake around 5:35 p.m. on Dec. 16, according to reports USGS.

The epicenter was about 10 miles northwest of Midland near the town of Stanton.

People in neighboring areas like El Paso, San Angelo and Lubbock felt the earthquake to varying degrees.
