Minx Season 2 on HBO Max: Jake Johnson reacts to ‘crazy’ cancellation

bitch still has a pulse.

Following HBO Max’s surprise decision to reverse the renewal of the show’s second season, lead actor Jake Johnson confirms the show will indeed continuealbeit with an XL asterisk.

Despite the brief cancellation, “we’re still finishing the season,” Johnson said on Instagram on Tuesday. “Luckily they didn’t stop production. We’re about a week away from finishing filming.”

However, as we reported on Monday, Season 2 will never see the light of day on HBO Max. In addition, the streamer also pulls the ’70s comedy First season from its platform. Meanwhile, Lionsgate Television produces bitch – will offer the series to other streamers.

“From what I hear [Seasons 1 and 2] – and hopefully [Season 3] – will find a new home, the question is where,” Johnson claimed. “We appreciate all the online support. We love making the show and hope to continue doing so. It’s a crazy business [and] that’s partly what makes it so addictive. Hopefully we’ll have good news to share soon.”

bitch is the latest in a long list of HBO Max casualties, sparked by the merger of Warner Bros. Discovery earlier this year, joining the original series made for love, love life, The Nevers, Raised by wolves and Chronicles of Gordita and the bat girl Film, as well as unscripted tariff FBoy island and Legendary (We have a summary of some of the bloodshed here.)
