Modern Warfare 3’s Zombies brings squad-based survival to an open world

Activision and Treyarch have shared a first look at the Zombies game mode, which is fully featured in Sledgehammer’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Universe.

In this iteration, teams of players will work together in an open PvE environment with multiple squads that can work together or individually to face multiple threats, masses of undead and enemy forces in a series of increasingly hostile environments.

In this extraction-based mode, one of the biggest dangers is the expanding Aetherstorm that engulfs the map as the game progresses. Luckily, Zombies mode will include vehicle assistance to help you navigate the map more quickly. However, in the meantime, you’ll also have to defeat a lot of enemies, as this iteration features a higher enemy density compared to previous Zombies entries.

In addition to the undead, there are mercenary soldiers who work for the Terminus Outcomes PMC and were hired by the main antagonist Viktor Zakhaev. In addition to the variety of undead, otherworldly creatures and mercenaries, you will also come into contact with one of the largest zombie creatures in this mode.

The mode includes classic features like Pack-A-Punch, Perk Colas, the Mystery Box, Wonder Weapon and new secrets to discover.

You can also save exfiltrated weapons for use in future games, including fan favorites like the Ray Gun. Additionally, you’ll find blueprints throughout the map that allow you to make off-field acquisitions and give you benefits like starting a mission on Juggernog.

Modern Warfare 3 will be released on November 10th for PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
