Modern Warfare II player rises to the top without a single kill

It’s not every day you can find a pacifist in online first person shooter games that only gives players one way to fight their way through the ranks. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II could be the first instance of such a thing thanks to this user who rose to the top simply by refusing to kill anyone.

As we ponder how patient this person must have been not to kill a single person in their 24-hour playthrough, another mediocre and highly controversial FPS rises from the dead with a new seasonal update, though most people love it again ignore once. Here’s your daily roundup of gaming news from around the web.

Nvidia faces RTX 4090 meltdown lawsuits

When you’re spending $1,600 on a GPU (and that’s assuming you can buy it at retail price), you obviously expect the thing to power your gaming rig for at least a few years without breaking a sweat . However, people who jumped on the RTX 4090 bandwagon are likely to regret every life decision that led them to the moment of purchase. The new Nvidia flagship is a performance monster, but unfortunately that has come with its own hiccups over the last two months.

The main issue – aside from being overpriced, of course – is that the GPU reportedly runs too hot, melting performance across the board. Nvidia should have warned users beforehand, which is why some of them are now filing lawsuits against the hardware company and demanding damages.

Battlefield 2042 It managed to create quite a maelstrom of hype before it came out late last year, but a technically challenging launch riddled with bugs and frustrating gameplay glitches made it one of the most controversial EA games in history. Then again, if you know the company, that’s a pretty low bar. Now, DICE is preparing to release the game’s next content pack, dubbed “Season 3”. We’re not sure that many people other than the game’s most ardent supporters, who number in the tens of thousands as opposed to the millions of the competition, are looking forward to seeing this game.

A netizen unironically named ThatFriendlyGuy managed to hit the max level Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II with no kills to his name. Everyone would love to have the man on their team, too, because the only way he got all that experience was by playing the objectives, giving assists to his teammates, and defending bottlenecks with a shield.

Some people play first person shooters just for the thrill of being able to gun someone down, but others like it for the community, and ThatFriendlyGuy is the perfect example of this behavior.
