More rain in the afternoon and evening

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – After a dry morning, the first showers of the day will arrive around noon. There is not much chance of rain at this time, but the most likely location for these showers will be west of I-75.

Storm numbers will increase throughout the afternoon and evening, and the heaviest rains will occur east of I-75. There is also a small chance of some stronger storms with gusty winds and even small hail.

Before the rain, temperatures quickly soar into the upper 80s to almost 90 degrees.

The chance of rain is slightly higher tomorrow, but most of the rain will still fall further inland. Highs will be in the mid to high 80s, with some additional clouds.

On Thursday we have another day with a higher chance of rain before drier air arrives.

The chance of rain drops to 40% on Friday, but the driest days will be Memorial Day weekend. The chance of rain on Saturday afternoon is only 20% and on Sunday the chance is only 10%.

These days will be warmer with highs in the upper 80s. Unusually dry for late May, with only a 20% chance of a brief Memorial Day shower and lower humidity.
