NBC Summer Premiere Dates List 2023: America’s Got Talent, Ninja Warrior, More

NBC is the second broadcast network to announce its summer schedule (after ABC) — and it’s an entirely unscripted affair.
It all starts on Tuesday, May 30th with the return of the reality juggernaut America’s Got Talent. The two-hour season 18 premiere will be followed by the series debut of Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge, which will offer “passionate car enthusiasts and Mattel’s Hot Wheels superfans the opportunity of a lifetime: transforming a nostalgic car from their past into the full-size Hot Wheels of their dreams,” according to the official logline. Car enthusiast Rutledge Wood is the host.
In the meantime, American ninja warrior — which recently received an early renewal for Season 16 — will return for Season 15 on Monday, June 5.
The network will launch later this month LA Fire & Rescuea new documentary from executive producer Dick Wolf and the team behind it Chicago fire. The show, which arrives Wednesday, June 21, promises “unprecedented access to the inner workings of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.”

AMERICA HAS TALENT

The 18th season of America’s Got Talent returns with a new group of up-and-coming artists set to compete for the ultimate prize of $1 million. Executive producer Simon Cowell returns to the stellar panel of judges with global fashion icon Heidi Klum, acclaimed comedian Howie Mandel and acclaimed actress and international superstar Sofia Vergara. Dynamic Terry Crews returns as host. This season promises some of the wildest acts to ever grace the AGT stage. AGT then begins six weeks of live shows at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium beginning Tuesday, August 22nd. The results shows are broadcast on Wednesday evenings.

HOT WHEELS: THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE

New series Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge is turning up to give passionate car lovers and Mattel’s Hot Wheels® superfans the opportunity of a lifetime – turning a nostalgic car from their past into the full-size Hot Wheels of their dreams. Hosted by auto connoisseur Rutledge Wood, each episode invites two superfans into the Chrome Zone, where they compete to transform an ordinary vehicle into an extraordinary Hot Wheels showstopper, inspired by personal stories and pop culture touchstones. Working with a team of automotive magicians known as “The Car Pool,” the two superfans will create their designs in highly engineered, decked-out garages. The winner of each episode will take home $25,000 and the chance to enter the finals, where three lucky finalists will transform a different car in hopes of winning a legendary prize – an additional $50,000 and the honor of turning their design into one official Hot Wheels cube-cast car.

AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR

Season 15 of American ninja warrior returns with the country’s best athletes competing on the world’s toughest obstacle course. Hosts Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila are back along with co-host Zuri Hall to dictate the action as the Ninjas make their way through the qualifiers and semi-finals in Los Angeles before heading to Las Vegas for the national finals. Featuring the biggest changes in the show’s history, Season 15 will challenge the Ninjas to race side-by-side and head-to-head across a high-stakes course with a spot in the National Finals at stake. Additionally, the Mega Wall is even taller than before at 18.5 feet, and for the first time ever, ninjas must complete all six obstacles in a set time for a shot at the $10,000 prize. A grand prize of $1 million will go to the winner who completes all four stages of the national finals.

LA FIRE & RESCUE

From the producers of NBC’s hit drama Chicago fire comes LA Fire & Rescue, a new documentary that offers unprecedented access to the inner workings of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Responsible for protecting the lives and property of four million residents living in 59 cities across Los Angeles County, LACoFD’s 2,300 square mile service is unlike any other in the United States. From mountain rescue with helicopters and lifeguards on the beach to fireboats, hazmat squads and the raging wildfires of California, the department handles everything. Documenting real-life incidents and real-life drama, the series gives faces to the passionate firefighters who risk their lives in the name of service. These real-life heroes and their compelling stories are told alongside the unpredictable dangers they face on the frontlines of life and death.
