Without doubt, Need for Speed 3 Hot Pursuit is one of the best racing games we’ve seen in the history of gaming, and probably one of the highest rated iterations of the NFS Franchised by the community so far.
Delivering a Law vs. Outlaw format for the series for the first time, Need for Speed 3 was then a unique and joyful experience for all fans of arcade racing.

Unfortunately, Electronic Arts hasn’t been kind enough to the franchise’s older entries, including Need for Speed 3. We’ve never received a remake or remaster of the franchise’s early entries.
That being said, there are always some talents in any video game community that take on the responsibility of keeping the game alive over time.
Need for Speed 3 benefits from better lighting, reflections and shadows in Unreal Engine 5
David Kerekes is the modder behind this creative project as he used the original Need for Speed 3 models to recreate a brief but brilliant experience of driving a supercar Need for Speed 3 with improved optics.
Despite only containing two maps and a single car, it’s already a favorite project for old-school fans Need speed Series. Thanks to all the cutting-edge tools in Unreal Engine 5, this project already looks like an official remaster with incredibly beautiful lighting and shadows.

Unfortunately, the creator didn’t reveal if he would continue this project to add more tracks and cars. It is not publicly available at the moment and neither are we if the developer ever shared it on the internet. In view of possible copyright issues, however, we can assume that this remaster will probably never be released to the public.
