Netflix #1 Murder Mystery 2, Avatar The Way of Water and Creed III VOD

Last week’s John Wick bonanza has declined.
Two big hits were screened at home this week, with wildly different gaps between their theatrical releases and PVOD availability. “Avatar: The Way of Water” (Disney), which came out after 100 days and a domestic gross of $680 million, is currently #1 everywhere. “Creed III” (MGM) came in at #2 after just 28 days, also in all charts. The Way of Water is available for $19.99, while Creed III is only available for 48-hour rentals.

Also new is Champions (Focus, $19.99), matching the company’s usual third-weekend release. It made two lists, all the way up to #4 on Vudu (which, unlike iTunes and Google Play, is measured by revenue rather than transactions). Vudu also has the latest DC Comics home video original Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham (Warner Bros. Discovery) at #9 for $14.99.
Two movies that made all three lists are now available for $5.99 in A Man Called Otto (Sony) and Puss in Boots: The Last Exit (Universal). “Cocaine Bear” (Universal), still at $19.99, also made it through all three and landed at number 3 on Vudu.
Last week’s John Wick (Lionsgate) boomlet declined, with Chapter 4 pre-sales remaining at No. 10 on iTunes and two earlier titles landing at the bottom of Google Play’s top 10.
The Netflix original Murder Mystery 2, starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, was an instant #1 for the streamer, with the 1999 original coming in second. “Kill Boksoon,” a South Korean thriller about a woman whose life is divided between mothering duties and working as an assassin, became her second original title at number 9 on the top 10. Most of the charts are made up of studio releases, topped by her first appearance from the 2011 remake The Thing at #3, with three animated titles reflecting many young kids on spring break.
iTunes and Google Play rank movies by number of transactions daily. These are the listings for Monday April 3rd. The distributors listed are current rights holders. The prices for all titles apply to rental.
