Netflix announces the full title of the “Luther” film and releases the first photos

Netflix has released the full title as well as some photos from its upcoming one Luther sequel movie.

Lutherstarring Idris Elba as DCI, ran for five seasons from 2010 to 2019 and aired here on BBC America.

Luther: The Fallen Sunas the Netflix film was titled, it is described as “an epic sequel” to the TV series “reimagined for film.”

Written by Neil Cross, directed by James Payne and scheduled for release March 2023, Luther: The Fallen Sun finds a vicious serial killer terrorizing London while “brilliant but disgraced” detective John Luther sits behind bars.

“Haunted by his failure to catch the cyber psychopath who is now taunting him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job by any means necessary,” the synopsis reads.

The film’s cast also includes Oscar- and Emmy-nominated Cynthia Erivo (as a detective who is also Luther’s nemesis), Andy Serkis (as a criminal villain), and Dermot Crowley, who reprises his series role as Martin Schenk.
