New images are awakening the masses as the highly-anticipated collaboration with Brie Larson could be closer than ever

We can never get enough of that Brie Larson – and she knows it. The 33 year old Captain Marvel star continues to feed her followers with stunning photoshoots, exciting meet-and-greets, and adorable pooch snaps, but there’s a collaboration on the horizon that her recent Twitter/Instagram posts allude to that could send the Larson fanbase into a frenzy .
Larson last wore the skintight leather in 2021 as Captain Marvel Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, who only appears in an uncredited cameo appearance. Before that she was the saving grace Avengers: Endgameand now Marvel fans are anticipating her starring role in 2023 The wonders alongside Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel – a team that has been worked on for years. But we’re not talking about Marvel today, no…we’re talking about inspiring women, especially none other than filmmaker Chloe Zhao.
Zhao gained international fame for her western film nomadic country (2020), for which she won the Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director, and was the second woman and first woman of color to win the latter. Even though we said it wasn’t about Marvel, isn’t that all? Though a success story on her own, Zhao also received credit for directing the MCU film eternal (2021), which she also co-wrote with Patrick Burleigh, Ryan Firpo, and Kaz Firpo. So Zhao dabbled in the MCU, where Larson plays Captain Marvel. Coincidence? We don’t think. Last but not least, this correlation only paves the way for a future collaboration between Larson and Zhao, which both ladies seem extremely eager for. In fact, Larson’s latest tweet confirmed the excitement and even teased a future project involving the two pioneers.
Both Larson and Zhao are pioneering women in their own right; the former brings to life a powerful, independent superhero and the latter makes history as a WOC director. We don’t preach feminism here, but we…are. While there have been complaints about the MCU becoming the “M-She-U,” there’s nothing wrong with a little diversity. Besides, inclusion has never hurt anyone. Maybe we’ll finally get the long-awaited Captain Marvel 2 with Zhao leading the project. Either that, or we should expect a female-led superhero team of epic proportions (much like The Marvels) in the near future. We certainly seem to be heading in that direction, and Larson and Zhao, being buddies, only make the forbidden fruit taste sweeter. And now we can’t wait to see how the MCU develops.
In early January 2023, Zhao already shared pictures of the couple frolicking in the sunset, so Larson might be fashionably late to share the pics, but if nothing else, it’s a sign things are to come.
That being said, it doesn’t have to be an MCU project that takes Zhao and Larson on their filmmaking journey. Everyone knows that Larson is interested in some theatrical performances from time to time, and Zhao directed it The driver about a rodeo cowboy, so maybe we’ll get cowgirl Larson soon enough. Wouldn’t that be a sight? Zhao hasn’t directed since then The Eternals, so it’s long overdue for a new movie. As for Larson, she has a busy schedule, but we’re sure she can open a place for Zhao. They are, after all, best buddies.
