Newsom proposes millions in pro-choice editions

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is proposing that the Golden State shell out millions of dollars for pro-choice measures.

Newsom – a Democrat who survived a recall election in the golden state last year and is now running another term — proposing $1 million for what press release referred to as the “Comprehensive Reproductive Rights Website”.

That money would be used “to develop and maintain a website that provides the public with accurate and up-to-date information about abortion rights under state law, information about reproductive health providers, and options for reproductive health service coverage, including federally funded coverage.” and programs,” says the press release.

The governor is proposing a whopping $40 million to “provide grants to reproductive health providers to offset the cost of caring for low- and middle-income individuals who do not have medical insurance for abortion services,” the press release said .

He also proposes “$15 million in grants to community-based reproductive health, rights and justice organizations to conduct medically accurate and culturally competent outreach and education on sexual health and reproductive health issues” and “$1 million for research into the unmet needs for access to reproductive health services,” the press release said.

A leaked draft Supreme Court opinion suggested the Supreme Court is poised to make a decision that would allow states to ban abortions — in which case women who want an abortion could travel to states like California.

“California will not stand idly by as extremists roll back on our fundamental constitutional rights; we will fight like hell and make sure all women – not just those in California – know that this state continues to recognize and protect their fundamental rights. ‘ Newsom said, according to the press release. “We are expanding access to these essential services, welcoming businesses and their employees fleeing pro-abortion states, and reaffirming our commitment to continue to work closely with reproductive rights legislatures and stakeholders to further solidify California’s leadership on abortion rights .” Newsom proposes millions in pro-choice editions
