prime videos The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power debuted in the US rankings by Nielsen Streaming Originals ranked #1 by amassing 1.25 billion minutes of minutes watched during its double-episode premiere, which was only eligible for a few days within the week of August 29 measurement period.
Nielsen notes that The Rings of PowerThe audience of was 55 percent male, and the highest demographic concentration was in the 35-49 age group.
Meanwhile, passing Nielsen’s weekly ranking of acquired Series – where HBO is house of the dragon competes – the game of Thrones Prequel jumped to number 5 with 781 million minutes watched on HBO Max in the first three episodes. Which, of course, is on top of its sizable, linear cable audience.
Netflix Devil on Ohio ranked second on the Streaming Originals chart for the week of August 29 with 716 million minutes watched across its eight episodes. It followed stranger things (667 million minutes/34 episodes) … last week’s champion, Netflix echoes (627 million minutes/seven episodes) … and Netflix i am a killer (558 million minutes/26 episodes).
Rounding out the top 10 for the week of August 29 were the first three episodes of Disney+ She Hulkand Netflix The Sandman, Virgin River, partner track and Untold.
