OnePlus Nord 3 5G Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 closed beta program goes live for users in India

OnePlus Nord 3 5G was launched in India in July with a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC under the hood. The successor to the OnePlus Nord 2T comes with the company’s Oxygen OS 13.1 skin, which is based on the Android 13 operating system. Now, ahead of a public release, OnePlus has launched the Andorid 14-based OxygenOS 14 Closed Beta Testing (CBT) program for OnePlus Nord 3 5G users in the country. The CBT program is limited to 500 users and they can find operating system bugs and report them to OnePlus for all critical issues to be fixed prior to release.

OnePlus announced its closed beta testing program for the OnePlus Nord 3 5G on Monday (August 21) via its community page. According to the post, Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 CBT program is currently open to 500 OnePlus Nord 3 5G users in India. Interested users can join the program to preview OnePlus’ next custom skin and submit feedback and suggestions to improve the software experience.

Active members of the OnePlus community with the Indian variant of the OnePlus Nord 3 5G are eligible to join the program and participants need to follow some guidelines.

Since this is an early beta update, it likely contains several bugs. Therefore, caution should be exercised before installing the beta version on your mobile phone. Also, participants may need to flash their OnePlus Nord 3 devices and erase any existing device data while installing the update. OnePlus recommends users to always back up all of their data.

OnePlus has listed some known issues with the Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 beta update. These include the missing loading icon, the phone’s likely ringing when there is no incoming call, the likely wrong order of album photos, Google Contacts’ failure to delete multiple contacts, the screen flashing during the screen auto-off, and the camera recognizing the QR, among other things -Code not. Participants in the OnePlus Nord 3 5G CBT program are required to communicate regularly with OnePlus employees via the CBT Telegram group.

Looking at past updates, OnePlus could soon announce an open beta program for the OnePlus Nord 3 5G, followed by an eventual stable release once the CBT is complete.

The OnePlus Nord 3 is priced in India at Rs. 33,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration, while the 16GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs. 33,999. 37,999.
