Oppo A38 has quietly made its debut in the UAE. Oppo’s latest smartphone is listed on the company’s UAE website, revealing its design, color options and detailed specifications. The handset features a 6.56-inch HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 720 nits. Available in a single storage variant, Oppo’s new phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. It comes with a dual rear camera.

The Oppo A38 has been listed on Oppo’s website in the United Arab Emirates, however, the phone’s price and sale date have yet to be announced by the company. However, a recent report suggested that the smartphone could cost around 159 euros (nearly Rs 14,200) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. It is also speculated that the mobile phone will soon be launched in Europe as well as in India and other Asian markets. Meanwhile, the phone comes in two color variants namely Glowing Black and Glowing Gold.

Specifications and features of the Oppo A38

ColorOS 13.1 is pre-installed ex works on the dual-SIM supported Oppo A38. It features a 6.56-inch HD+ (1612 x 720 pixels) LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 720 nits. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The phone also supports RAM expansion technology that offers up to 4GB of additional virtual RAM. The storage of the phone can be expanded up to 1 TB.

In terms of looks, the smartphone comes with a dual rear camera housed in two circular camera islands on the back. The camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel AI primary sensor and a 2-megapixel bokeh camera. For selfies and video calls, the handset has a 5-megapixel front camera housed in a waterdrop-shaped notch at the top center of the display. It is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 33W SUPERVOOC charging.

The Oppo A38’s connectivity options include Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), 802.11a/b/g/n/, Bluetooth 5.3, a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. In addition, the phone supports a fingerprint scanner and face recognition for biometric authentication, an ambient light sensor, an accelerometer, a proximity sensor and a geomagnetic sensor. The Oppo A38 measures 163.74mm x 75.03 x 8.16mm and weighs 190g.
