Orange County Public Defender Elliot Blair Dies While Vacationing in Rosarito, Mexico; The family believes he was killed

ROSARITO, Mexico (KABC) — According to local law enforcement, an investigation is underway into the death of an Orange County public defender who was visiting a hotel resort in Mexico to celebrate his first wedding anniversary.
Elliot Blair visited the Las Rocas Resort and Spa in the coastal town of Rosarito, Baja California with his wife Kim Williams. He was found dead the day before their wedding anniversary, January 14, hours after he and his wife went out for dinner and dancing.
While officials initially believed the American died from a four-story fall at the resort, there was a specific injury to Blair’s forehead “that would not have been caused by a fall,” one official said.
The Williams family said they hired an investigator in grief.
“We have reason to believe and evidence that there may have been foul play,” but we don’t want to jeopardize the investigation, the family told ABC7.
A spokesman for Orange County Public Defender’s Office Martin Schwarz told ABC7 that Blair is a “devoted husband, a great person and a fantastic attorney who has dedicated his life to serving his clients and supporting the most vulnerable in the county.” “.
“He impacted countless lives and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him,” added Schwarz. “We have been communicating with the family and are doing what we can to support them during this difficult time, including working with local and federal officials to help provide answers.”
