Passer is accused of sneaking into a home in California and touching a 12-year-old girl

(KTLA) – A convicted felon accused of sneaking into a home in California in the middle of the night and touching a 12-year-old girl was held without bail, police said Monday.
Around 12:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a home in Riverside to report a possible burglary.
Police said the suspect, Daveon Alvarez, 28, entered the home through an unlocked door and found the 12-year-old girl sleeping on the couch.
“He touched the girl’s face, which startled her and she ran to alert her family,” police said.

As officers searched the neighborhood for witnesses, they learned that Alvarez had searched cars and fled the home with a set of car keys.
He was arrested nearby.
Police said Alvarez was a transient from the desert area who was on probation for auto theft. He was sent to prison for alleged molestation or molestation of a child, burglary, attempted theft car and violating probation.
“Great job by the officers in locating this parole officer quickly, but a special thanks to the young girl who was brave and provided enough information to get this criminal arrested,” police said.
