Payday 3 patch, already scaled down, with an even longer delay

Since release, the heist for Payday 3 has been anything but smooth. The latest speed boost for the online shooter is a delayed patch that was scheduled for this week – a Update that was already split into two parts previously.

On Twitter/X, the official Payday 3 account apologized for the setback, saying: “…we have decided to postpone today’s scheduled patch to ensure its stability. The patch requires some changes that would require a new console certification.” Therefore, developer Starbreeze is now aiming for the update to be released in mid-October.

One particularly frustrating aspect of this delay concerns the PS5 pre-order bonuses, as these are still not available to people who purchased a premium edition of Payday 3. Starbreeze stated that they will not be redeemable until this patch goes live.

Payday 3 launched last month and had major problems almost immediately. This led to Starbreeze CEO Tobias Sjögren apologizing for the shooter’s unstable launch. Afterwards, Payday 3 also had to go offline several times to fix problems. The studio has even discussed an offline mode for the shooter due to the difficulties.

According to Starbreeze, the servers for Payday 3 are now repaired. And the studio has big plans for the shooter: four DLCs are planned for the game’s first year. However, it is unknown how all these launch issues might affect their releases.
