Pleasantly cool mornings, but also steaming hot afternoons return

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – Cloud breaks are slow across the region, but overnight we will see partly cloudy skies and comfortable conditions.

Pleasant readings on several mornings this bank holiday weekend with temperatures plummeting to over 60 degrees. Our coolest morning will likely be Monday as some of our northern counties may see temperatures in excess of 50C. With this level, the afternoon readings continue to get warmer every day.

Afternoon temperatures will rise near the Sunday afternoon average and become hot in the extended forecast. Our forecast is that we will remain dry until around Friday and Saturday, when we see the next best chance of storms.

Tracking the tropics: Tropical Storm Katia formed off the coast of Africa on Saturday but will not affect us here in the United States; However, we are watching another wave off the African coast that is likely to develop into our next hurricane over the next week.
