Pokemon GO Water Festival Catch Challenge Timed Research Tasks

There are many different events in Pokemon GO and this is a return after a few years with the Water Festival and this time we also have a special Catch Challenge Timed Research to complete.

After running in 2017-2019, the Water Festival paused for a few years before returning this year.

Not only is there a new timed research to complete, but also the introduction of some new Pokemon to add to your Pokedex.

What is the event?

That Pokemon GO The Water Festival 2022 event features a few different bonuses, as well as introducing a brand new Pokemon to the game. This new Pokémon is that of Dewpider and its evolution, Araquanid.

As for bonuses, Rainy Lure modules last for two hours during the event. There will be 2x hatch candies and an increased chance of XL candies from hatches.

Water Festival 2022 Catch Challenge Timed research tasks and rewards

The Water Festival 2022 Catch Challenge timed research is a little different from the A Poni Adventure special research as it consists of only one overall step. However, there are other tasks to complete in this one step, all of which you can work towards at the same time.

Step 1

• Catch 15 Pokemon – 20x Pokeballs
• Catch 50 Pokemon – 25x Big Balls
• Catch 25 Water-type Pokémon – 25x Ultra Balls
• Make 25 curveball throws – Dewpider encounter
• Catch 10 different types of Pokémon – 50x Mega Gyarados Energy
• Rewards – Encounter Lapras with Scarf, 1,000 XP, 1,000 Stardust

This completes the timed research of the Water Festival 2022 Catch Challenge Pokemon GO. The tasks are all fairly easy to complete, although the curveball throws may present some problems for those struggling.

As mentioned above, this research gives you a chance to snag one of the brand new additions in this event with Dewpider, along with some other good rewards along the way.

Just remember that you only have a limited amount of time to participate in this timed research, so make sure you get it done before it expires at 8:00pm local time on Friday, May 20th.
