According to police, he allegedly started a fight with an elderly woman and then attacked two male passengers.
MBTA Transit Police arrested a Lynn man accused of assaulting two passengers aboard a Blue Line train, according to a statement released Saturday.
Omar Singhateh, 29, of Lynn, was arrested on “numerous assault charges,” officials said.
According to the statement, police were called Thursday at 10:41 a.m. due to a disturbance at the MBTA’s aquarium station.
Police said they were told Singhateh started an argument with an elderly woman on board the train because she was looking at him “strangely”.
Singhateh had become increasingly aggressive toward the elderly woman, the statement said, and two passengers attempted to intervene to calm Singhateh.
Police said Singhateh attacked the two passengers – hitting and kicking a 60-year-old man and then hitting a 31-year-old who was trying to stop the attack.
Both victims showed Singhateh to police on the platform and officers took him into custody, police said.
Further information was not initially available.
