SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A suspect, who was fleeing police in what was believed to be a stolen car, rammed the vehicle into a stand selling fruit and flowers at the end of a car chase in south Los Angeles on Tuesday.
The collision occurred around 1:10 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Vernon Avenue and Flower Street. It is not clear where the persecution involving the LAPD originated.
Eyewitness News received video of the moment the vehicle crashed into the street vendor’s stall.
The suspected driver was eventually trapped in the wrecked vehicle. He was eventually freed and taken to hospital in serious condition, the fire department said. No other injuries were reported.
The suspect was not immediately identified, although firefighters described him as in his 30s. LAPD said he was in police custody.
