pop-up showers for Wednesday; Weak cold front on Thursday

Columbus, Georgia (WRBL)- Another day of highs in the high 80s to low 90s with the possibility of a sudden shower or storm. Our forecast for Wednesday will be very consistent for this time of year.

A large depression will continue to form off the coast of Halifax, pushing a cold front south and into our area through Thursday afternoon. This front will slightly increase our chances of showers and thunderstorms, some storms may produce gusty winds, best chance is from Columbus to Eufaula and areas to the east.

Dryer air will head into the region on Friday and temperatures will not change much for the first half of the weekend, so the heat can be expected to continue. Another round of rain and storms is back in the forecast for Sunday night.
